Topic: videographer Presidency Position Posted: September 11 2006 at 9:59pm |
Per Adam and Shane's Request. Here is a copy/paste of an idea I have for making meetings avalible for those that were not able to make it to the meetings.
I have a Sony DVD Camcorder that I have been having fun with. I have an option to record in Night Vision. It only requires a little light. I could record the next meeting and upload it to my photo bucket account. As long as it can support a large file like that, or a bunch of files like that. I have no issue of doing this. If it does work...I could start doing this on a permenent basis, with your approval of course.
If i cannot upload it to the photobucket, I could ship copys of DVD's to whoever wants to buy it. We could easily do this if people want to use DVD-RW's, you could watch and send back and i could burn over it with another meeting. I can reuse these disks thousands of times.
P.S. Could this be considered a new position for presidency responsibilities? If so ill do it.
Let me know, Rhine

Rhine,
Thanks for the recommendation. As you know, we discussed this idea at our recent presidency meeting.
We have chosen to continue filming the meetings and offering these for sale to anyone.
Interest in purchasing a DVD copy seems to be limited. There have been very few copies sold and we will again review the necessity of filming meetings in the coming months.
BTW, we have copies of the Nov 06 and Dec 06 available for purchase now. Please PM me for details.

Not to be cheap, but I think more people would purchase it if the cost was lower.
I am not sure what the club is paying for blank DVD's but you can get a 100 pack for 22.99(after rebate)from compusa. that's about 23 cents each.
I would think 5.00 a disk would still be a good profit for the club, and more people might purchase them.
Just a thought...
Randy

Randy, You have to figure in the time to edit and making the video also. I know that Rhine putting this together for the club by not way is profiting from this project.

I do understand,
I was just wondering if the lack of interest is because of the price..
I would be happy to help make the copies once the master was made if that would help.
Just some random thoughts...

Dude - can you tell I'm a FOB!! My grammar is horrible!!! yikes!!
Randy - totally understandable. . . (sorry if I sounded jumpy - didn't mean too) I think the price does have a big factor in ppl's decision making process.
What about a rental policy??Like the local b-buster??

Thanks mike. I will be taking video of all the meetings.
Randy. I have gone that rought (buying the cheap DVD's) in fact the cheap compusa type. But I found that the software i use, Vegas7 for some reason does not like the "cheap stuff". I only burn to Sony DVD's. I have concidered lowering the price, So i will have to think about that more.
