also High levels of Phosphate or nitrates will inhibit growth also supplement with iron and magnesium and trace elements for max growth hope this helps...

If I understand correctly, this is the maroon colored algae that is commonly called Tang food. Few people have success growing it. Caulerpa is much more commonly grown by most hobbyists.

that is true but i think its cause most hobbyists are just hopping to throw it in there sumps and its going to take off the levels of ph,temp have to be stable
to grow with success.. IME
