what would be the downfalls of running a 250w bulb with a 175w ballast untill I get new 175 watt bulbs. I know I will underpower the bulb ....... will I get an algea outbreak ? too low of par ?

I just read prob while you were posting this that if you do not run the proper ballast/bulb combo then you run the risk of the bulb exploding, & much shorter bulb/ballast life.

Speaking of which has anyone EVER had a MH explode on them?
