I noticed my stomatella breeding two different times in one week about a month ago.  It was pretty cool to watch.  Almost exactly as explained here:

Since then I have counted over 60 babys at one time, so I am guessing I have at least 2 or 3 times that many between my two tanks.

My question is if there is enough algae for my astraea to survive.  Should I get rid a bunch of the baby's?  Also does anyone know of a good way to remove stomatella from rocks or glass to remove them from the tank?  They really have alot of suction.

at one point in time I had over 150 stomatellas in my 120gallon tank. I added a cleaner shrimp and 2 peppermint shrimp and I noticed that they ate the stomatellas. Within 2 months they were almost non-existant. So if you want natural removal maybe buy/borrow a couple shrimp to rid your tank of the stomatella. However they were the only snails that stayed alive longer than 6 months.
