I used silicone made by All-Glass, you can pick it up at Aquatica.  You can use pretty much any pure silicone though, just make sure it's pure and it doesn't have any other crap mixed in.

Last I looked, Lowes carries the Dow brand Aquarium Silicone. Find it hanging on a hook near the glues. It's the only thing I trust. It has no chemicals to stop mildew.

easy way to test is the smell.  If it smells like chemicals bad, vinegar smell good.

John, I used that silicone from Aquatica as well. Worked great. I had a hard time finding aquarium at HD or Lowes here in utah valley. If I did find it I could not get anyone to tell me FOR SURE that it was safe. Try Jones Paint and Glass though. I think I heard they had some.

I used GE Silicone I Windows & Doors 100% silicone on my sumps and it has worked great.  I've read that GE Silcone II is not safe and any thing that says Kitchen and Bath usually has mildewcide that definitely is not safe.

The only problem with GE Silicone I is that it has turned yellow...which is usually fine for the sump but I wouldn't recommend it for a display.
