We will be using a committee to count the ballots for the 2009 election for president and council.

Shane Heil will oversee the election process, communicate results with presidential candidates and provide the winning ticket with the counted ballots.

Jake Pehrson has agreed to provide ballots, ballot box and verify membership status of all those casting ballots. Jake will also manage absentee ballots.

The following members have agreed to participate as vote counters:

Larry Halliday
Lorraine Richards
Brad Syphus

Additionally - here is some more information about how your votes will be handled and counted:

1 - Jake Pehrson will oversee the ballot box and ensure that voters are listed as Paid Members before they submit their ballot.

2 - Jake Pehrson will deliver the ballot box to Shane Heil  at the conclusion of voting.

3 - Following the meeting, Shane Heil will open the box in the presence of the vote counters (listed above). These three people will count the votes.

4 - Shane Heil will oversee the counting and record the results - although Shane Heil will not participate directly in the counting of votes.

5 - Shane Heil will contact the winning and losing candidates for president and provide them the vote results. The winning ticket will receive the counted ballots.

6 - The winning ticket will post the 2009 presidency council within 1 week of the conclusion of the election.

Each of those people participating on the election committee have agreed to these terms and have agreed to remain at the meeting until all votes are counted and the results have been finalized. Voting results will remain confidential unless the new president and council choose to make them public.

Thank-you for your continued interest in the success of the WMAS.
