I am looking to get away from using my canopy.  I currently have 3x175w metal halides mounted in my canopy.  Is there any place I could buy a empty light fixture to mount the halides in?  would a 48 inch light from the home depot do the trick?  I was thinking just buy one, take the bulbbs out and mount the halides in there.  What you think?

I would say just make sure you have a way to cool everything. You could also build your own fixture and add moonlights and T5s as supplements! That would be way cool IMO.
