Topic: Plating Monti Dieing Posted: October 11 2004 at 4:33pm |
I have a huge Brown Plating Monti in my office tank. It has several layers top to bottom. Some of the bottom layers are dieing. They have gone totally white. I suppose this is due to the top layers shading the lower layers and when they get no light for long enough they die. Is this true?
If so I need to start fragging it then the Sale/Trade forum will get this post..."Large Brown Monti w/Purple edges frags for sale $5 each."

Jeff, Done. I will hopefully be doing it tonight. I will take several home with me and I should be home Tuesday evening. All this is still up in the air of course.

By the way, thanks for the quick reply Tracy. Now I should be able to take care of it before it dies off anymore.

I fragged it tonight and the frags didn't come off quite like I hoped. I have some pretty small frags. I only got one that was "large" and it has been spoken for. I may have a couple smaller frags I could do 2 for $5. These are about 1 1/2" wide and 2-3" long instead of palm sized as I had hoped. 2 more is about all I have left right now, but it keeps growing.
BrokeCurmudgeon, if you are still interested PM me your phone # and I'll call you tomorrow night when I'm home. It will likely be around 7:00, but it could happen that I don't get home until really late tomorrow. In that case Thursday I will be home. (I hope. )
