My Alk jumped from 10.8 to 12.8 in about 3 hours. I did a water change during that time. What should I do??

My little brother added Alk not knowing that i had done a water change today. So its a pretty big jump. I am new at the hard corals (about a month) so i am a bit worried and cautious. I guess im just wondering if i could lose my livestock.

I'd just let it come down on its own. My alk got up there and my welso was ticked but it only took a couple days to come down.
