I am at work right now - and far away, besides - but maybe I can help from here...

How hot is "running hot"?

Do you have a heater?

If yes, is it on or off?

Are your lights on right now?

put some ice in a 1 gal zipper lock bag and let it float on top. that should help bring the temp down until you figure the problem out

If you don't see the chiller circulating water, I would turn it off.

Unplug the heater, turn off the lights, aim a powhead more towrds the water surface to keep things moving.

It shouldn;t take terribly long to bring the temp down - especially if you opened a window nearby.

What size is the tank?

If I knew anything about chillers, I would come over but I dont. Sorry. On a side note, it doesnt make sense to me to have a heater and a chiller? Especially in the winter. Do they fight eachother? I ran two 250W MH over a 65 gallon last summer and was able to keep the water temp under 80 just using a small fan blowing across the surface.

Life is good....right?
