How would I do it? How long will it take? I know I can already buy them acclimated to sw but I want to do it mysrlf

it varies. some people take the acclimation up to 2 weeks slowing raising the SG. others take only 3 hours, and other just dump them right in. the difference between acclimation times is how high survival rate you are hoping to achieve.

I want to buy a couple and I dont have the equipment to house them for a couple of weeks I would probably be able to aclimate them for a few hours only maybe 7-8 max

I think you could safely do it in 7-8 hours easy....IF, they mollies are currently in their "appropriate" brackish environment.....

They are in fresh water tanks at petsmart

If they are healthy looking 7-8 hours is long enough that they should all survive.
