I was looking at my tank after the the lights went out last night and noticed a worm or two. From what I could see it was about 2.5-3" long, the first inch was red and the rest of the body that I could see was clear, or see through with a black line down the back. I also have little worm looking things that hang from my LR and some places on my glass, they are covered in sand. Any idea as to what the are, do I need to worry about either?

Only a rare few organisms are a problem. This is not one of them.

It hides when the light comes on. I think it might be a bristle worm, I googled reef worm and looked at the pic's and it looked like a bristle worm.
