Okay I've got a problem. Driving me crazy. I can't run a skimmer on one of our new tanks. It's 60 gal, with a 20 gal sump. I have two ASM skimmers that I love. Used them for years. But for some reason in this tank each of them just throws microbubbles everywhere. The sump is filled with bubbles, and the foamy water makes it past all the baffles to the return pump. I'd really like to run a skimmer on this tank but can't figure this out.

ASM users- best water height for a Mini G, G1 or G2? Baffle gurus... how can the bubbles be making it past the baffles?

Can You use a foam sponge in between one of the baffles to stop the bubbles. That's what I had to do in my sump.

My experience with baffles is that they need to be close together and have a good amount of flow through them to kill the bubbles.

My problem right now with my ASM is to fit it where I wanted it, I had to turn the pump vertical so it sucks water down and them pushes it horizontal into the chamber - normally it's pulling horizantal and then pushing the water up and over into the chamber.
It seems to work best when I restrict the water flow, if I don't block it, it fulls the collection cup with water, very strange. - any suggestions as well?
