We have had club members that have done presentations at the monthly meetings. They ALL did a great job. I would like to see more. With that in mind, when I make the transition from "Asking How" to "Telling How" I would be happy to lead a discussion.
However, on the message board, there is often a question like..."I am considering buying a..." Generally, these people have done a little bit of research. Maybe they would be willing to do a 3 to 5 minute "Here is what I found out" presentation.
The presidency could even issue invites (privately) to give a very short presentation on a specific fish or coral. Nothing big, just something about cost, care level, feeding, temperment, potential impact on your system, availability, etc.
As an example, there was questions about Blue ribbon eels and Anemonies (and their tendancy to roam your tank).
I think this could be an interesting opener for each meeting along with the Tank of the Month. If someone from the presidency asked you (with a topic) to give a 3-5 minute presentation/report would you do it? I would. I would be scared as ****, but I would do it.
