An eight gallon might be a little small but I think the Yasha White Ray Goby has to be one of the coolest ones. Here is a pick of mine.

I had a Flaming Prawn Goby in my 8g...and I never...ever...saw it.  They're amazingly cool though. 
 
I also had a mated pair of high fin gobies with a shrimp in my 8g.  They were awesome...neat to watch the pairing behaviors.  The hubby was very protective of the wife, so I rarely saw her.

i just found my new favorite .. that flaming prawn goby is crazy looking...how come you didnt see him much ?

They're very secretive, and only get to be about 1" long.  They hop about on the rockwork (not swimming) looking for pods and other food all day.
