One of my frogspawn heads has some brownish color goo covering it. Whar causes this, I know its bad, what can I do?

shut off the power heads, take it out of the tank asap!! then put it a container and suck out as much of the jelly as you can. you can try and dip it in lugols but the head might no survive. to make sure it doesn't spread you will have to probably cut the infected head to save the colony. I lost a whole colony of pink torch. don't wait do it now....

i already cut off the head...and dumped it...the other head didnt seem to have any ...what causes this?

There's still a ton of debate in the scientific community as to what "brown jelly disease" is...or if it is anything at all. Corals with "brown jelly disease" have been found with all sorts of infections, protozoans, etc. It may just be a way of how some corals die under certain conditions (infection, disease, injury, etc.)

Just as a update. the frogspawn came out all right, none of the rest is affected and already has 2 new heads
