My leather coral has been good since I got it, but this last week it has shriveled up and appears to be turning white on its ends. All other corals and parameters are good. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I have one that does that every night when moon light comes on. So I did some searching to see if it was dead or on its way. From what I found they will do that from time to time and there is no rhyme or reason. So don't stress it too much. I'm a newb though, so I could be wrong.

Leather corals grow a layer of mucus that they shed occasionally. They will shrivel up when this happens. As long as the coral doesn;t start falling apart or melting, I wouldn't be concerned.

I have one that does that all the time.

Although there is a galaxia coral about 5 inches away, that occasionally hits it with a sweeper tenticle.  This causes it to shed its mucus layer, but it usually recovers in about a day and continues growing.

I wouldn't worry about it as long as its not like that 100% of the time
