Hey i've had a few fish make a jump for it in the past im all about the rimless tanks but the problem is they are kinda meant to not have a lid so theres not really any way to even put a glass top on really.

Well i tried finding clips and they were expencsive and none were thick enough for my 3/8" glass, i tried making some and they just didnt look good and so defeated the whole point of the sleek rimless look.

I had never thought of putting the clips on the lid rather than the tank, so at The Aquarium they had clips that went on the lid but nobody sells them and they couldn't tell me where to get them, but then i had the brilliant idea of just gluing tabs to the lid instead so once i get my tank put together i'll try this out and let you know how it goes.

Im surprised that with the rising hype of rimless tanks that LFS dont have options of putting a cover on it, but this should work pretty well.

I drew up a very rough diagram below to illustrate what im talking about:

IF anyone has any other ideas to share please post!
Thanks!

The problem I see with this is salt buildup. I tried something on my 240 acrylic but it was always dirty and has salt buildup. in fact it got so bad it was blocking light to the tank. Just my $.02

Don't put a glass lid on it

Put a screen top over it instead

I placed a screen lid on top of my rimless and it looks great IMO. It is just your average household window screen frame with the clear 1/4" netting. It is just set on top with no clips.

That looks pretty good! I think you've convinced me, I'm going with screen. Where do you get the clear netting?

I got some at hancoks fabrics for a $1 or two. But it's 72in wide and a yard long. But it's not a 1/4in it's really small holes but it doesn't block any light

Go to Walmart to their fabric section, you will find some there. It's called crinoline I think. I used it before and kept my wrasses in.

I got mine from AceMan on the board. I think he's in Ogden and he also ships. The netting was really inexpensive. Good luck.
