We use it as a coral dip for some of the pests we get with new coral. Not for everything, but it works well for most stuff. Best part is it's like 8 bucks for a quart which should last a lifetime, unless you use it on your lawn too like I do. Works well for the soil borne insects. Not as good as the stuff in the old days. I found a quart of Agent Orange, 2-4-5-T, in my wife's grandmother's shed.

I've never had to use it, knock on wood, but definitely will if the need arises. I would imagine that just like other chemicals we use for killing pests, the dosage should be increased slowly and/or it should be used briefly at first, so as not to create secondary issues, right?

Bmac, is this an attempt to kill some pests that were causing your coral issues? Did you already try the Chemiclean treatment with subsequent addition of bottled bacteria? If so, what was the result?

Generally speaking, the need would arise long before you found out you had a (pest) problem. This treatment is not something you would want, or could, safely dose to your tank but rather a preventive measure done outside the display.
