so there I was watching TV and I look over at my tank and it was white and about three eighths of an inch long and the thickness of a sewing pin. It was inching along like an inchworm or caterpillar then rolled up in a ball and let go of the glass and was in the water column before i could take a picture.

Yes...harmless limpets (there are bad limpets out there, but these are fine)

Useful Limpets - not only for what they eat and keep clean(like that powerhead), but for their spawn which feeds other things in the tank. Thumbs Up

Oh man! We totally didn't have an answer for ya. Sorry Matt. I seem to remember having seen that kind of worm too, but have no specifics 'cause it is a very rare sighting.

Without a pic... possibly an oligochaetes or a small polychaete

Or an inchworm that fell into the tank (happened once to me with a spider...)
