or attempts to...

The current deck is old and rotten.  Its actually been collapsing in areas and was just generally unsafe.

The plan will be to build a deck and incorporate a hot tub.

I will be pouring a 6" deep 10x10 concrete slab for the hot tub.  I don't know how big of a tub I want but I'm sure that will be plenty. the deck will sit about 12" off the ground around the tub.  so ill still have access to pumps/heater equipment.

The deck:

so far took a bunch of rock and old deck to the dump today. 2 trips and about 4500lbs of stuff.

the truck is already loaded for a third run and i have more wood on the side of the house.  plus the remaining deck  :(

Its getting there though.  If anyone that has built a deck before has some spare time,  feel free to help when I get going with the assembly part :)

Looks awesome! Are you using redwood or a synthetic material like Trex for the top?
