Topic: Suction Cups Posted: February 14 2015 at 4:26pm |
Hello All, getting back into the hobby and purchased a 300g tank, I have plenty of help hopefully however I most are not looking forward to it so I thought I would make it easier on them. I'm looking to borrow some lifting suction cups that way I don't have to buy some. Does anyone know of anyone with such a tool? Thanks ahead of time! I'm moving the tank the last Saturday of the month.

I have seen posts on here that the club owns some. I would suggest you try contacting a member of the presidency.

I am the current steward of the club suction cups, but I'm in Murray. Does anyone closer to Clearfield have any, or perhaps rent or borrow from the two LFS near you?

I'm actually picking up the tank in Provo and could stop on the way. What brand are the clubs suction cups as I could just order a couple pairs also.

I don't know what brand. They are tucked away in storage. As one who has actually used the best made suction cups to move very large tanks(up to 550 gals), I would not trust these alone and there are only four. If it were me, I would borrow 4 more from a glass company and get help from 5 more guys. Just text/call me at 808-345-1049 to let me know a little ahead when you're going to stop by.

I believe the club suction cups are Harbor Freight Brand. I personally wouldn't use them.

I have borrowed cups from AD before. I think they require a deposit.

Thanks Will. When I inherited them I observed that they were low quality. I believe they would probably work for carrying up to a 90 gal tank.
