The links from the homepage say nothing about the day or date of the next meeting. Are we to assume that it is on the "usual" first Thursday?

Help needed, Coral donations, etc.

Thanks Mark, didn't notice that.

The meeting is on January 9th, which is a Friday.  I didn't have Jake posts actualy days on the website, becuase not all of the dates are set (working with guest speakers still).
I'll be sending out emails, but rest assured, January is for Friday the ninth.  As for coral donations and help, I guess we wouldn't turn it down.  Does anyone have something they want to donate?

The rest of the meeting is under control and taken care of.

Thanks

Adam

what is the topic of the next meeting?

Coral Cutting Seminar.  Lots more educational talk, less coral cutting.  That about sums it up.

LOL... That's great. I can't wait for this meeting (even if the frags aren't free .) It should be great. Let me know how I can be involved. I'd love to volunteer my time, and some colt coral if needed. I'll be sure to bring some cash in exchange for some good frags for my tank too.

BTW, have I told you lately how cute you are? You are easily the
cutest president we've ever had! (I know I said that when Mark and
Joe were Mr Big, but I was just kidding...)

because of you!

And how is your new wife? She is so cute! Easily the cutest spouse in
the club. Geez, she is soooo lucky to get to hang out with you.....

My oh my , well I think I can arrange for Suzy to have some frags pre-bagged and ready to go before the meeting.

Think I'm kidding.... just wait and see!

do we know what corals are going to be available yet?  and are there going to be any lps corals, or all sps and softies?

My selfish question is... Last coral cutting I wasn't in need of any cuttings so I just wondered around shooting the preverbial bull.  But I did notice that the turnout was so big that all the cutting were gone very fast with I'm sure some people going home without.  This upcoming meeting I'll be wanting to do more buying and less talking, so is anything going to be done differently this time? Or will it be another "mad dash"?

I am going to make a suggestion that is popular to many of the other MAS clubs. IOW, not my idea.
For our coral cutting seminars and other appropriate meetings, I feel that we need to allow our members to have the first crack at the cuttings and our guests may partake after.

And something that goes well with our meeting:
How about a demonstration on how to make coral plugs and composite rocks?

Coral plugs...uggh, do you like the look?
Isn't a rock more natural looking and easier to use?

Wow look at all the questions.  Well I won't go into the whole meeting, but trust me it will be much different.  No, I don't know what corals for sure yet.  But we are looking for donations.
Jon, we will have 200 frags already cut and bagged for sale, so if you want to just show up and buy then you can.  Also, I don't think many people left last time without frags because we rarely run out of frags of any of the corals.  Usually there are plenty left over.
Lynn- members won't have first access, sorry, but you will get them cheaper.  And sorry again, no talk about plugs.  I think the general consesus is to stay away from the plugs.

Get excited, it will be worth it.

Plugs are easier to place and anchor. And to move around to a new location. Not everybody feels that plugs are bad.

Marcus, we are trying Friday meetings quarterly to see if they will work out, since some club members suggested it would be better. As for the dinner crowd, you just never know.

I bet there will be more people at dinner on Friday.  You may need to reserve a room somewhere.  I plan to be there too.  No work the next day.

I will commit to being there for Friday dinner too.  I heard that the presidency is buying, is this true?

Sean you have it just backward.  It is the other members who pay not the presidency.  That is why I'm trying to talk you guys into coming, so that it will be cheaper for each of you, and I can order more food and not feel guilty having you pay for it.
