Those pic are too small. Sorry about the quality. Its off my Iphone
We ordered the doors for the stand and canopy. They should be done Tuesday. We will be putting them on and staing next week.
I was a bit nervous but we drilled 2 3/8" holes.

We decided to go with a 8 bulb ATI Powermodule.  I will upload pics soon. After I plum the tank, I will be building a sump made of acrilic with a refugium. I will be running a protein skimmer, and calcium reactor to keep up with the demands of the SPS corals I plan on adding.

Recent updates.
The stand has been stained once and polyurathaned twice and a third time for protection on the places that will be splashed on. The tank will be arriving on Wednesday with the stand from my Uncle's garage.

We will be using two of these bad boys!!
The tank will be SPS dominant and needs a lot of flow, that why I will be using seaswirls with a mag 18 return pump.

I wanted a way to be able to change my bulbs as easy as possible so we used a simple metal rod sitting on top of the canopy with some copper tube straps keeping the rod from shifting.

I ordered an acrilic sump from Tyler that should be done tomorrow. I have almost all the plumbing parts I need but still need seaswirl mounts and I will be ready to add sand and rock.

Picked up my sump and seaswirl mounts on Monday thanks to tcfab and they look awesome! Yesterday I bought most of the PVC parts and I will be putting them together this weekend. I will post pick soon once I get water in it. I am learning the gift of patients considering I wanted it all up a few months ago once I ordered my first parts for it!!!

Update on the aquascape... I decided to go with the bonsai look which has been inspired from a lot of web browsing. I really wanted to take advantage of the 30" depth and feel like this will look really deep once the rock gets some color and coral on it.

I really like the sump and have a lot of space for my refugium. Skimmer works great, float valve makes me happy and the Kalk reactor with help keep stability for the SPS.

An mp40 was added to create more flow and remove uneaten food from the sand. Its been amazing and I love all the settings such as night mode and feed mode.

The only changes to the aquascape was a small arch that my wife really wanted. I feel that it adds a lot of debth and personality to the tank.

We have added a few fish to the tank since I posted last. All include:
Blue Tang(from our biocube)
Blond Naso Tang
2 Neon Gobies
2 Bangai Cardinal fish

I've been collecting them for a few years now slowly. I have gotten most of them for a good deal as they have started as 1" frags or less. Most of them came from people on this forum.

How do you like the Sea Swirls?

I am getting one for my new tank and have been trying to find opinions on them. They aren't talked about much which means one of two things:

1) They aren't popular
2) They are trouble free

Most of the reef forums are filled with negative experiences. Rarely do people post about how great a piece of equipment is unless asked about it.

I plan to use the 1/2" model on my 25g tank when it arrives. Tyler is starting my sump next week and I am super excited! Great tank Trevor.

The Sea Swirls are super nice! I love the random flow and feel like they are more than worth it. Just plug in and forget about them.  I feel like people don't post much about them because not a lot of people get them due to price and the lack of a real need for them. From what I have heard they last a long time and when they fail they fix easily. The first time I saw one was at a public aquarium and I thought it was a great idea.

How do you like your Vortech in a cube setting?

I am thinking of putting an mp40 on mine to replace 3 other pumps

Only concern in my case is I have more rockwork than you, and I wonder if a single pump can give me enough flow to all parts of the tank, getting past the aquascaping...

(I hope so. I really like the "clean" look of your single pump)

If the MP40 is up past half way I feel like it starts to blast everthing really well. If you turn it up I would be confident that it will do just fine. I saw Nicks tank and he has twice the rock I do and it is enough to keep dead spots out. If for some reason you did have a dead spot you could always add one more small pump but I wouldn't think you would need it.

Plus I love how many settings the MPs have. I love that its always changing from high flow to low flow all day long. Worth every penny in my opinion and its super clean looking like you said. Soo easy to clean also.

Good to hear...

My cube used to have even more rock in it than it does now... I took some out partly because I saw how cool your cube looks with that kind of a 'minimalist' aquascaping style.

Who knows? I may end up taking out even more rock seeing how well yours is coming along LOL

Wow, I'm exited that my tank has inspired you to go more "minimalist". I am a big fan of using as little rock as possible while achieving a good shape and style with enough room for the corals to grow on. It also give enough room for the soon to be colonies:)
