If you are going to use LEDs I would go with one of the fixtures with full spectrum. The radion is the nicest on the market. We have had customers change out their radium metal halides for the radions from Eco tech without losing any color in their sps.

However they are a PITA to program and change.

I personally have grown to love LED's in the short amount of time i have used them. They are costly upfront but remember you don't have to switch out the bulbs every few months and on top of that i have no heat coming off of them at all.

On a customers 210 we first installed three, it took him 5 seconds to decide he wanted another one. That is a standard 210. Size 72 x 24 footprint. The two on the ends go long ways the center two go front to back. Has grown his corals like crazy, with dosing. Lol.

I would guess that 3 of the radion fixtures would give you nice even coverage, however one of the fixtures would need to be over the center brace. Another option could be two fixtures and some t5s to fill and give even coverage throughout the tank.

build two DYI with LEDs that have a wide angle, then for mounting, do a half semi circle on each fixture over each opening and close (couple inches) to the water. That may give you the spread you need.
otherwise, get the fixutes u plan on and then a couple strips of LEDs over the center brace to fill in. No need to go backwards with fluorescents in the mix.

Updated pics

There is 3 outlets in the fishroom each with its own 20a breaker. Each has its own ethernet cable and conduit linking each other together. I have them about 7ft off the ground. There is also a fan for ventilation which pulls in fresh air in through the cold air intake

Got the sink & RO unit rough plumbed. The last pic is the main display plumbing running through the wall

Awesome set up! We've got a 265G display plumbed through the wall to a 75G isolation/frag tank and a 50G sump in the garage. We love having a seperate room for all the mechanical. I am betting you'll want 4+ LED fixtures on your main display. However, three may be enough if you go with the new Ecotech Radions. Either way, you're looking at close to $3,000 in lights for just your display. I'm rather old school and chose to go MH and VHO combo again. While I may very well switch out to LED's someday, we are very happy with our current set up, which set us back $1,100. I bet you'll be close to a five year break even cost with the LED's and at that point, there will probably be even more lighting options to choose from. So I don't think it's so much about the cost but rather personal preference. Kepp the updates coming and enjoy! The builds are my favorite part.

Every thing is looking really good.  I have 3 AI blue's over my 220g tank.  I did have colors drop off a little for the first 2 months when I will bringing the lights up.  I am now runing them just about 100% and the color is starting to come back up.  I did also add so T5's for a noon spike of like the are on for about 2 hours a day.  With the shorter time I am guessing that I can get a year+ out of the T5's.

Next house I am putting in a fish room for sure.

Looks great.

If your doing this all your self, and it looks to be the case, you are well more than able to take on the LED build and go a DIY route.  I built a LED fixture from the ground up including the carpentry on a suspended canopy hood over a year ago and have never looked back.  The full spectrum etc etc is just a ratio of LED colors and very easy to incorporate.  I bet you could purchase all the dimmers, LEDs, heat sinks, cooling fans etc for less than 1800 and have better light and control than you can imagine.  The ONLY issue in my mind, is programming a controller to run the PWM (or analog) dimming control over the lights.  Commercial options exists which would add a little to the price.  I went the route of a ReefAngel controller and I have extensive experience in this and in writing code to run PWM dimming LED's and arguably have some of the most sophisticated lighting programming available running on my tank, and tanks across the world with people using my source code.  I would be willing to lend a hand if you choose to DIY.  In terms of it looking clean, its all about how much time you want to spend being careful with wiring, solder joints, etc etc.  If you can tape and sand drywall to a smooth paint finish you can make and LED that looks very very clean indeed.

Let me know if you have any interest- your more than welcome to come check out what I did and see how it runs etc.  The LED's of course save you significant dollars in bulb replacements but  I think people sometimes forget to add in the cost of the electrical bill.  Running 6 or 8 250 W MH bulbs is going to be well into the multiple hundreds of dollars a year in electrical service charges.  LED will cut down so far it will look free.  And frees you up to run whatever you can think of from your 60 A service.  8 x 250 W bulbs requires 17A service feed all on their own .. not that I am at all certain you would need 8... but just a number.  DIY LED can be had for the cost of a nice T5/halide combo and if your willing to add some build time for this, you will actually NOT spend more money upfront and save a ton down the line.

I've done slot of research on it I love the idea but the look I'm not to sure about. The main factor is my wife has epelisy and the shimmering may be to much for her to handle. So that's why I haven't went the led route yet.

I grouped my LED's into very tight spotlight groups so the shimmering in my tank is very nice, not at all the disco effect some complain about- but I have no idea whats acceptable or even normal compared to MH.  Always welcome to come look if you end up thinking about this more.

To get around the shimmer effect of the LEDs, go slightly brighter and add diffusion glass between the LEDs and the tank.

+1 Sump as Display.

Imbed some low power color shifting LEDs into the red top and dividers and then when you light it up the dividers will carry light and glow all the way down through the sump.  Then again, this may not work so well as they may act as a light pipe and not really glow from the sides... but it would look soo cool if it worked!

And Jager heaters are and have been one of the best for 20+ years.  Not even that expensive really.

Do you have any wp25's? I have a 40 and it is killer, silent and I like the night feature that lets it blow soft throughout the night. Just the 40 is a little big for my tank, Bob told me this but unfortunately I already purchased it. So looking for a 25 if you have any.
Thanks

If the price is right i would be interested in 2 of those WP40's....  Was thinking of MP40's but they are pricey and I want to get our 90g up and going!

Why is everyone jumping on buying his WP40's but no one has said a word about him saying his fish room is on hold! I think we need some explanation on that little bomb hidden below the picture right next to the signature. It's a sad sentence to read. :(

If your not feeling it anymore I see that you have a solana 34. If your not using it, I would be interested in buying it. Pm if that is possible.

I've watched thousands of dollars of fish and corals melt away. And its been such a slow process of getting all the equipment/room rounded up and finished

The wife said to get the tank out of her living room and put it down stairs where it belongs so i tricked a couple of dads and sister inlaw that came to my daughters birthday party into moving it.
A big thanks to Benny for lending me your suction cups.
