I am starting my first reef tank TOMORROW, and I am very excited about it. I am trying to choose between these two lights:

http://www.amazon.com/Aquarium-Light-Bulbs-Watts-Fresh/dp/B00AAHPXOG/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t

or

http://www.amazon.com/TaoTronics-TT-AL09-Dimmable-Aquarium-Output/dp/B0092LXQRM/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t

It's a standard 75 gallon tank. Let me know which are better, and if you could let me know why, hopefully I'll learn a little bit as I go.

Thanks!

Led for sure. PeteMoss has one of the LED's you listed for sale used. You should buy it. And I would get a second one for full tank coverage.

Why? Power usage is less. Dimmable. No bulbs to buy. Consistency in output. Less heat.

I've heard from a few other people that TaoTronics makes a solid LED fixture.  It's not much more money than a DIY fixture, and it's plug and play.  If you've got the cash and don't want the DIY headache, I think it's a great buy.
