I'd really like to take some good pics of my tank as it stands now until I can get a good macro lens for my Nikon D300 DSLR. I was thinking if someone was willing to let me borrow their lens and/or camera for a night in trade for some frags of something, that would be great. Preferably, someone close to Highland. Maybe that's a stretch but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I'd really like to buy a macro lens but the recommended $500 is a bit out of my price range and I'm not sure how good the telephoto/macro lenses are that I see on KSL for about $100-$150.

The difference between a macro and a telephoto macro is a bit about the quality but unless you're a pro photographer, its not worth the price. Telephoto macros work extremely well and you can get a new one for about 185$ depending on the make. I've always used them and always like the results.

Cool. thanks for the info. Do you have some photos you've taken that you can point me to that show me what a telephoto macro can do?
