Random question. What is your opinion on a 350gallon tank that is 8ft long and has 2 over flows one on each end would you use one powerful return pump to feed both or 2 smaller ones?

One large pump for sure. It's about half the cost, less plumbing in critical points and less trouble maintenance wise.

Mark

NO WAY.  Don't do 1 pump for a 350.  Do 2 medium sized pumps.  Pumps are CHEAP nowadays.  I have an 8 foot 400 gallon and I run 2 small DC pumps and run them at 50%.  I had one go out on me and all I had to do was turn the other one up 100% until the other one was fixed.  It's more plumbing, but PVC is cheap.  As far as maintenance goes, DC pumps are virtually maintenance free.

Good point Aaron. I changed my mind. Do what he said.

Are those DC pumps submerged or external? What size of sump/Refugium? Maybe these questions are answered in your tank thread. I will go look for it.
