Have you contacted local aquariums?

They're native to waters around northern Africa and the united kingdom, so returning it to the wild is out of the question. And riddled with controversy to begin with.

They get up to 4 feet long, there isn't really any home aquarist who could take on such a shark.

Good luck. You're not likely going to find anyone around here. I know from experience. If he will ship, post it on eBay. Will be the best way to find it a home quickly.

I think that few hobbyist have a tank large enough to dedicate to a big predator like these sharks. Hopefully he will find it a home before he comes to the point of euthanizing it.

That's horrible. If you need help calling around I can help. Has he or she exhausted all of the options in their state?

These guys weigh in at 4 feet on the shorter side. Never were really meant to be in an aquarium.

They should regulate who can "adopt" a fish. At the Humane Shelter in SLC you have to fill out an application and be determined if you can care for a pet. A fish is no different.

A lot of people try to cram a ton of fish into an area that is not healthy and pretty damn cruel. Its like cramming a dozen dogs in a studio apartment. Its one of those things that really pisses me off in this hobby.

My two cents.
