Another update.  Long weekend Labor Day = a lot of tank labor.
Not finished with the plumbing, but here is what the mixing station is gearing up to look like

Here is dry-fitting the plumbing. (sorry for the orientation...we need to be able to rotate to fix this)

The only way to cut pipe! lol (not really, but was a huge time saver!)

Was going to use conduit strapping

Then decided not to...I like this stuff much better!

All glued up

Meanwhile, downstairs.
Gotta love hole saws.  had to go through 2 2x4 headers...not fun.

grin and bear the pain

so done with that noise

Medusa...what more to say.

Getting all wet!

If I had to do it again, I would have gone with straight pipe and not flex.  Flex has some give, it is so hard to deal with!  Tonight I will try to get sump plumbed and get a full system wet test going.

Having worked there in the past, I can tell you a few things from first hand knowledge. The staff is great - they do their best with what they're given to care for the animals. Corporate on the other hand is difficult to work with/for. They don't allow ANY of your input on how to do husbandry, you do it their way or you're out of a job. From my experience (any virtually any other reefers who have worked for SeaQuest), their marine husbandry practices are outdated and the corporate office, specifically the CEO, doesn't allow any new ideas or ways to do things. We were literally told not to do our own research on husbandry practices. Anyone who follows the Standard Operating Procedures without question can thrive at SeaQuest, it just gets frustrating when you know that there's a better way to do things there.
I'm thrilled to see that they're finally getting someone with hobby experience, during my time there almost none of the marine husbandry staff had any experience with saltwater aquariums.

Hey all

I know a lot of you guys don't know me, but I'm having an emergency and don't know quite what to do. As lick would have it, yesterday I broke my hip and am in the hospital. I'll be here for three days at least. Went it rains it pours. While I'm in the hospital, my children call me and tell me the ceiling is fallign apart from water damage. After trying to figure out what's causing the damage we found out my tank has sprung a leak. So my dilemma is I had some friends who are not fish people clamp the tank temporarily, but I have no circulation. I have an airstone in there. I don't know if there is anyone willing to come grab my corals and fish before they die. If that's a possibility and anyone is willing to to do that I would really appreciate that. You can call me at 8013189706. I have surgery at 5 today. I'll be at the hospital a few days at least. I don't know what's going to happen to my fish

Here's a list of my fish

PS. I'm a little loopy from medication so some of these names might not be exact

Majestic angel large
Yellow angel
Yellow Tang
Orange shoulder Tang
Blue Tang
Atlantic Tang
Two wrasses
Four green chromas
One yellow Gobi
Mated pair of goldbar maroon clowns

Four anemones
Bunch of soft misc leathers
Green bubble anemone
100 lbs of rock

Thanks for even reading this

I have a membership and take my daughter to go feed the stingrays and the flying gurnards. I've always loved the hands on feeding but felt some of their displays needed serious help (the seahorse and jellyfish specifically) but one of the things i continuously gripe about is the lack of information of some of the exhibits.
I was just there the other day and noted the seahorse tank has been redone and they look happier, but the jellyfish tank still looks to be too much current as the jellies are rubbing against the bottom.

Custom 250 gallon Starphire glass Rimless Reef Savvy fish aquarium - $9800 (Meridian, Idaho)

This is an opportunity of a lifetime. This is a 3/4 starphire glass Reef Savvy 250 gallon turn key fish aquarium. It measures 85"x30"x22.5 tall. This beauty is the Ferrari of aquariums. If you want the best of the best, this is it! This aquarium is chalked full of expensive corals like high end zoanthids to two faced scolly's, Jason Fox signature pieces, to ORA SPS, Pink boobies chalice, Huge Walt Disney colony, Mummy eye, Colorado Sunburst Anemone's, the list goes on and on. The coral is packed into every square inch of the tank, sump, and refugium. I think in coral alone there's over $3.5k. There's about 20 fish including a gem tang and long nose Rostratum black tang. Other fish include High Red Stigmata blenny, different leopard wrasse's, blizzard clownfish, phantom clownfish, too many to list here. Basically the livestock, coral, and liverock are a giveaway. I probably will end of breaking it down and sell it separately if i don't sell it together. I Im FIRM on the price so I won't be going below the asking price. I would take 5,200K for the aquarium, custom stand, sump, and plumbing. Thats less than half of what I paid in 2017. I do have any and all receipts to show a serious buyer what it cost me a little over a year ago. If anyone wants to know more about Reef Savvy and Chris Brenner go to Bulk Reef Supply's 52 weeks of reefing on youtube. I built my tank identical to his and it will give you a good idea on the quality and components used. I have the identical setup down to the gaskets accept the aquarium is bigger. In episode 3 I have the exact sump so he gives you a complete walkthrough of exactly what it is. Its done by Rick at Synergy Reef.  Here's a link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKEXNIhomGs&list=PLBaMLrfToJyybUT18OE3fMomFb9XU0ffC

I have receipts for everything. Im open to showing any serious buyers any and all receipts for anything requested. The fish aquarium cost me $9.3k shipped to me. Subtract the 1k for shipping and I'm still into just the tank about 8k. I invite anyone to price it out with Reef Savvy and see what you come up with not to mention you'll wait over a year to get it or longer. The tank was signature signed by Felix on the back top right corner of tank dated 12/26/2016. I would consider selling the tank and stand separately which I'd sell first before selling ANY livestock, hardware, and equipment. Here's a list for the equipment.

*Reef Savvy phantom bottom, custom 28" ghost overflow, 250 gallon 3/4 inch starphire glass fish aquarium
*Beautiful Custom stained high end, Stenciled, Cherry wood cabinet built by Chris Brenner at Sticks and Stones. See his work at Chris Brenner's Woodworking. He partnered with Ryan from Bulk Reef Supply to do his stand and works hand in hand with Felix for his high end projects.
* Synergy Reef 54" multi colored, set up for Triton method sump (same sump that Ryan on Bulk Reef Supply has on 52 weeks of Reefing video) very nice, custom made sump by Rick from Synergy Reef. Best sump company in the business.
*(2) Gen 4 Ecotech Radion Pro's with custom made mounts.
*(2) Gen 3 Ecotech Radion XR30's with custom mounts.
*New Gieseman 48" Infinity light fixture.
*Royal Exclusive Bubble King Protein Skimmer 250
* Ecotech Vortech quiet drives (4)
* (1) Ecotech Vortech MP60 quiet drive.
*Avast Marine zeolith reactor (the biggest one they make)
*Synergy Reef ATO, 20 gallon capacity
*Neptune Apex classic with 2 energy bars and break out boxes
*Apex DOS two part doser
*Reef Dynamics recirculating bio pellet reactor
*Ecotech Radion mounts RMS (3)
*Ecotech Radion full rail system (2) for 86" tank
*3 Synergy Reef 3 part dosing container
*Ecotech Vectra L1 return pump
*Emperer aquatics UV sterilizer 40 watt
*300 LBS of Tukani and Tonga branch
*Tunze Osmolator universal 3155
*Luxcore performance series ballasts
*(3) stainless steel heaters
*Finnex HC-810 backup control module
*Avast Marine doser
* (2) Triton tests ($50) value each

If you have any other questions feel free to contact me and I can answer any other questions you may have on the aquarium. I have over $24k invested into this tank and I have receipts for everything to prove it! its a steal at the price I'm asking. You can't get a nicer aquarium than this!! Its as good as it gets. Everything is new and the aquarium is in MINT CONDITION (FLAWLESS) condition. Again, I won't be accepting anything below my asking price so don't even ask. I will be selling the tank and stand with sump and ATO first if it isn't purchased all together. Thanks for looking. My loss is your gain. And of course this is local pickup only. CASH ONLY!!!!!!! Feel free to message me or email me at workoutenergy1@gmail.com. If you are seriously interested and have more questions I can get you my phone number or setup a time to come over and view it. I also listed this on the Boise Craigslist if you want to see more pictures etc.
