I'd say if you're already thinking about going bigger, then best to just do it now if you can.

Here are some pictures of the fish room. You will have to excuse my mess and and the poor lighting. When we moved in it was a craft/laundry room. It is now a fish/laundry room. It is about 8.5ftx12ft and so there is plenty of room for both my wife and I to get our work done. In fact, my wife and I have both done very well at not getting in each others way. I LOVE having a fish room that is this large it is so nice to have a place where all the noisy equipment and pumps can go. I love that I have my own place to test the water and a large contained to do all my saltwater mixing. I don't have to crawl under my stand to clean the skimmer. Everything is easy to work on and access. I am not done with it yet. I would really like to work seriously on cable organization and having a cleaner overall look but that will come. 20180619_223540 by Nate Owen, on Flickr

Welcome to the community. I don't think that you will find that a 32 gallon tank is harder to move than a 16g. My first saltwater tank was a 29 gallon. I think that having the larger tank will help you be more successful at keeping your parameters in check. Just make sure you don't overstock either one and you'll do fine.

Hey ya'll! Total newbie here. I've been keeping freshwater tanks for 2 years and I'm ready for my first saltwater reef tank!I'm currently deciding between the 16g BioCube and the 32g. The 32g gives me more room, but I worry it will be hard to move in case I move next year. In addition, I plan to move to California for grad school when I finish my undergrad (in 3 years) and I worry that moving a tank that size to California is going to be awful.Do any of you have experience moving tanks in that size range? I'm not totally convinced that moving a 16 gallon is going to be that much easier than moving a 32 gallon.
Anyways, I'm probably going to be asking for a lot of advice once I get my tank set up in a couple of weeks, so I'm sure you'll see me around.

I love it and I have 3 tanks and 3 apex units was way nice to look at my phone and be able to dos, feed and see what my levels are at. I’ve bought 3 apexes and wouldn’t have a tank without one give a great piece of mind when you travel as well cause you can see everything.

This isn't about buying anything, sorry. But did you like your apex? Do you feel like it made your reefing easier and if you set up another tank would you buy another one?

Elite Aquatics here in Utah makes one just about the same. I know Aquatic Dreams in Layton has them in stock. there are a few sizes and one will even fit a 40b setup peninsula style.
