I have an SWC HOT skimmer. Works just as well as the SWC 120 I used to have, and the pump is external so you don't have any parts in the tank except for the intake and outlet tubes.

Here is the hydor slim skim in my nano tank and since the tank is square the skimmer looks like it's not out of place.

Huh, sorry it doesn't easily fit.  If you can find one of the old versions (probably pretty cheap now) then they don't have the magnet.  It still has a plastic thing, but it's much smaller (and probably easier to remove).  Tell ya what.  You buy the new version and I'll trade you my old one.  Wink

 I found some cone skimmers that aren't too big that are rated for 150 gallons and they are way cheaper then any of the cone skimmers I have seen in the past so I think I am going to try to get some of those for my new frag tanks when I build them. The still need 9.5 by 7 inches for their footprint but for a cone skimmer that's not too bad.

I looked up the 9002 on marine depot's site and found many other JBJ 28g nano owners who have to do some custom work before making this thing fit. It involves sawing off the magnet on the back of the skimmer body, and in some cases modification of the back middle chamber of the built on sump. When I had that tank I used a tunze 9002 as well, great little skimmer! And very quiet !Heres an old pic from when I had it
