Just ran my numbers:

temp 77.7
Kh  9.2
Mg  1600
Ca  450
Sal  1.026
Ph  8.4

My temp bounces from usually 78 to 80 degrees with lights but has been for almost 2 years.  I have noticed one of my larger blue leg hermit crabs hanging out next to the base of the acro.  Just removed him to a small tank.  The base of the colony is rather shaded.  My Kh has been in the low 7's and I have been recently raising it.  I have a MP10 close by this colony so it should be getting plenty of flow.  So i don't know.  Rogue hermit?

A patch like that is usually caused by too little light, too little/much flow, something stinging it, or something slowly munching on it.

As corals grow larger, they often get these dead spots since light and flow are often limited.

But, judging by the shape of yours, it doesn't look like a light-limitation. If it was, I'd expect a slightly different shape...more to follow the shadows of the larger branches.

How's the flow getting to the coral? Are the polyps waving back and forth like a bush on a moderately windy day? Can anything reach out and sting it (like the anemone in the foreground)? Have you watched the tank late at night to see if anything is eating it?
