Without getting into the powerful and high dollar lighting what we can get as consumers isn't powerful enough.  It can work on low growing plants, but the height of the tropical tree or bush complicate matters, you'd need a whole array of them running from bottom to top.<br /><br />We have low E windows in our home and the filtering makes it hard for plant growth inside.
