I have a giant CA reactor that I traded not so  long ago. I have no idea what needs to be done to set it up. Anyone have some good links about setting these up?

I'll post some picks. I don't thin I have all the needed equipment like a controller.

What is the controller anyway?

Sorry, I'm in unfamiliar territory here.

In addition to the reactor you will have to buy the following:

CO2 Tank
CO2
Gauges / Regulator
Needle Valve
Bubble Counter (not essential, but important)
pH Meter / Controller (not essential, but important)
Reactor Media

Hunt around and you should find several threads here and elsewhere about setting it up.

You have everything but the controller.  The controller will turn off the solenoid valve on the CO2 tank (where the cord comes out) when your pH gets too low.  Controllers are about $100 new but can be found used for $50 or so when people upgrade to Neptunes.  The hose with the coraline on it goes in the sump, ideally as close to the skimmer as possible (the skimmer will help blow off any additional CO2 that makes it through the reactor and therefore keep pH up).  The unions connect to the pump and the only skinny hose goes to the CO2 bottle shut off solenoid.  The bubble counter is on the corner of the skimmer.  Let me know if I can help with anything else.
