Here's a picture of today's batch of eggs from my clownfish.  They lay a batch of new eggs like clockwork, about every 15 days for the last 2 years.

Hey Aaron -

You raising any clowns these days? Call me sometime. I still have one of your test kits. I'd like to come see your tank again - maybe trade some frags ...

That is a great picture Flaz, thatnks for sharing. How long did it take before they paired up and mated? Is there anything you did to better the settings(anenome) or things I should look out for? Do you also sell the offspring?

Hi17 - you could put all those fish together. Idol's need good swimming room. Clown's like reef setting. And Regal's need a little of both. Idol's are notoriously hard to get to eat. Firefish has had better than average luck with them.

Hi17,

I agree with Marcus.  The regal and the idol are two fish to avoid.  I would start out with much easier fish.  Also, how big is your tank?

Adam

Come to a meeting, they’re fun!

I can say something about raising anemone fish babies ...

WORK, Lots and Lots of WORK.

Although I've never tried, I have had anemone fish spawn in my tank - but it's hard enough taking care of a new born human. Those 2 am feedings must be killer ...

I never got up with them in the night! Well almost never!

But toward the end, the whole 10 gal was as green as a bottle of phyto and the rotifers and other bugs grew by themselves. It was soooo cool to watch the little fish larvae go up to the glass, bump a bug off and then quickly eat it. They definitely swim different as larvae than as metamorphosed little fishies.

How did u get them to have baby's? Is there a sentient thing u looked for in this fish or what kind do u have and how did u do it? I herd that it is almost impossible to breed in a tank is that true?

Many people get clownfish to spawn in their tanks.  There are also several other varieties of fish that have also been known to spawn regularly in a tank.  The key is providing a stable environment for them.
