Are any of your other corals opening up? Check you water parameters, i.e. Ammonia, Nitrates, etc..

None of my other corals have their mouths open, they are all big and open but not with their mouths.

I've given mine chunks of krill during the day. I use chop sticks and hold the krill next to one of the "arms" and it will grab it and pull it in.

Use a turkey baster and spray any type of meaty food across the frogspawn. Usually best done during the day as your frogspawn will likely retract some during the night.

A healthy Frogspawn Coral (Euphyllia) will be a round bush of tentacles. That's why they call it "frogspawn", because it looks like a mass of frog eggs.

My thought is that the environment is not quite right for that coral. Please post a full tank pic and/or describe it. Also give us the Alk and Ca levels. GaryF asked about other coral. If you want some accurate information and useful help, please answer our questions. Smile

Unfortunately this does not sound normal. I have seen my frogspawn's mouths open when I disturbed the sand bed once and kicked up the ammonia. Check your water parameters when this happens! My frogspawn, when happy, just sways in the current and when something tasty comes by, the frogspawn tentacles typically stick to whatever is touching it and then it shrinks down to get things to the mouth (usually when I feed it with some type of pods).

Low Calcium might be part of the reason, but what about Alkalinity? It's very important to know both of those levels and dose only one part of the two part solutions to bring up the one that's low. It makes me want to ask
?What were the Alk and Ca levels before?
?and after dosing?
It's very important to know this.
