Pro's...good growth for cheap......CONS......Ive seen two tanks totally wiped out in a matter of hours. You can do the same thing with brown sugar with out the nuclear chances. (brown sugar can crash a tank if not monitored correctly)

Vodka must be dripped in a very controlled manner. If it malfunctions (even for a short time), you get to rebuildBig smile

If you're considering it, RC had a recent 'notes from the trenches' article that is a good read. I personally decided against it because of the risks.

Drink the vodka. Do a water change. (you choose the order) That's my suggestion on how best to utilize vodka to improve your aquarium.

I couldn't agree more......LOL
I have to say though, that some of the before/afters that I saw were pretty insane. Still wouldn't be worth the risk IMO. Deep sand bed, good skimmer, controlled feeding and macroalgae growth are the best ways (ok, maybe ozone too Big smile)

I tried using Vodka, Evil Smile it did help with Nitrates, I did it for about 3 months and about a month of sugar when I first started out before the refuge and BIG skimmer, plus I found that the corals looked better when I drank it and didnt give it to the tank, just took the fish a while to go through detox..LOL

I dont mean to brag but, yeah it's 6ft long.
