So was just doing my normal check of my fish each evening.  And my watchman popped out of his burrow with his pistol shrimp close behind him..  But I noticed some spins from a bristle worm around his head..     So my question is should I be concerned about this?  He is eating and acting just fine, but the bristles worry me.    Any help would be appreciated.   |

If he's eating just fine I'd think he's ok. Just keep an eye on him - he probably learned his lesson when it comes to bristle worms!

I didn't know that.. I just figured the bristle worm invaded their territory and they went at it. |

Bristleworms are very beneficial as part of the clean up crew.
Are you aware of that or are you dealing with a normal population of bristleworms?
They usually become a plague when there is overfeeding.
Simply decrease feeding by 20% and watch their numbers decrease during the following weeks/months. This is a pic of a what happens when there is serious overfeeding. The bridal veil material you see in the pic is used in the most effective method for removing a whole bunch at once. Would you like to know more about that method? |

I would, it sounds interesting. Based on the pick I would guess you put some krill (or whatever) in a wad of bridal veil then the bristle worms go to town on it, get stuck, you pull them out.
And how are you doing Mark? Once again thanks for helping me with my parents tank a while back. I'm still indebted to you for that one.

Mark, I haven't seen that either.  Good idea to whomever thought of it.  I think out of everything, I have the hardest time accepting bristleworms are friends...they're just soooo gross.  (Hubby can attest that I'm deathly afraid of them!)
