Topic: Can anyone identify this Nudi Posted: November 02 2011 at 2:41pm |
I got a new rock of Zoanthids and this Nudibranch came with them. I don't believe it is a Zoanthid eating Nudi, but I don't know for sure. Any ideas?

By the way, he is only on the acro because that is where he landed when I dropped him in the tank. I have since fished him out and he is in a plastic bowl.
Also, he is about 1.5 inches long so he is pretty big compared to most I've seen.

Way cool. I'd bet he eats all sorts of cool stuff in your tank.

No idea, but a lot of nudibranchs look like whatever they eat. In your case, he may eat Xenia or some species of clavularia. I would try seaslugforum.net for a definite answer.

Reef'd Up, I think you may have nailed it. I too was thinking it was a Xenia eater from the looks of it, but I spent almost half an hour looking for something similar on this website. http://www.nudipixel.net/The problem is I could spend all day looking at that site. I did find pics here after seeing your links though. http://www.nudipixel.net/species/marionia_arborescens/

That's one of the corals I have never had very good luck with so I have none. Maybe I'll see if anyone at MWRF wants to take him home to clean up an infestation.
