Go west on I-80 till you get to the second Grantssville exit head west till you come to a street headed south, pass that street . the road ends up heading north keep on that road until you pass the huge water tank on the west side of the road. after that your on your own you have to find the mounds of dirt and then start digging. You should see the rocks sticking out of the ground you need to dig to find the variety
Thank you RockStarFish
I want to go but just dont want to go by myself let me know ill meet you close out there.

Do a search, there are at least two or three great threads on here with GPS coordinates, google maps and everything. Use google Earth to help as well. There are two spots from what I have heard/read. One off of I-80 out in BFE and one near the oolithic sand near Stansbury Island. I for one have not yet been out there but I have looked it up on the sat photography on google.

This rock locale is even easier to find than Marks -
and NO DIGGING:
I-80 West to exit 68 (Lakeside / Military Exit)... stay to the right, follow the frontage road about 1/4 mile until you see a dirt trail that goes off to the right and goes right up a steep hill... drive up the trail to the plateau and the LBTR rock outcroppings are just sticking out of the ground - no digging needed!
1) Bring a hand sledgehammer, safety glasses, gloves and totes or buckets to chip off and collect the rock
2) You WILL need a 4WD vehicle to get up that hill!
3) Good Luck & Have Fun

I still have a whole truck bed full from my trip out there, If you want to take it all I can meet you somewhere and we can work something out for the price. (Cheap) It was all collected by hand with out a hammer.

That's weird because I was just out there last weekend and went the same place I picked it up last time and it was still basically untouched. The rock that I have is better than your typical utah rock it is very light and porous. I did however go past the DO NOT ENTER signs. What can I say I am a rebel.
If anyone needs any I still have some left.

I went this past Saturday as well. I didn't go past the do not enter sign. Saw some guys shooting right above that sign so we back tracked a bit and drove up a dirt road to a pretty well used parking area. Lot's of fire pits and whatnot. I honestly didn't expect to find anything but we found a wash a little ways from there that was filled with some great looking rock. No hammers needed, we just picked it up.
I have a little extra if someone needs it. About 40lbs worth. Give or take.

I would like to tag along too if that's not too many people. I'd love to pick up 50-60 lbs.
