I've got several of these, this is the largest. I'm pretty sure it's an anemone and not a button or polyp of some type. Is it a pest though? It doesn't look like the picts I've seen of majanos. It's about the size of a quarter. The disk is a neon green and the tips are a very bright red. Sorry for the pict quality, I couldn't get the nice camera to focus on it.

"I know exactly what you are talking about... and I have no idea what they are. " Adam Blundell. I have seen them in another members tank, but I dont remember what she said they were called. They are pretty though but they are a pest.

They are called tulip anenomes. They are very prolific and will take over your tank if you are not careful. They are manjanos, very hard to get rid of. If I were you, I would get rid of it while you can.

I've found Majano doesn't seem to spread as fast a aiptasia so I leave them alone in my tank until they start bothering something. I then feed them hot lime water, which seems to kill most of them. Some people don't consider them as pests...in fact I think somebody on this board usually volunteers to take them in and give them a home. This site has a few good pictures of them: http://www.melevsreef.com/pics/bta/not/majano.html-Rocks
