Cleaner Shrimp picking at Clam???

Anybody ever seen this?  Just noticed last night that my cleaner shrimp was picking at my clam.  Clam was closed and the sucker was still trying to get in there.  Is this normal?

I've heard that when cleaner shrimp are not fed enough they will start attacking smaller fish.  I would think that picking at invertebrates like clams would bean easier meal.  You might try offering your cleaner bits of shrimp or other seafood to satisfy his appetite.

Ours used to climb in the anemone and steal the shrimp out of its mouth.... It was super fun to watch.
