I bought quite a few nice looking softies from someone on the forum, one of which is a really nice pink zenia attached to a rock, with a bunch of small zoas attached to the same rock. The zoas are really spreading and now I have several baby zoas that have sprung up on the "trunk" of my xenia. Is this a bad thing? Will it hurt the xenia? All are really healthy looking right now.

Rest at ease. I cannot think of much that will hurt Xenia enough to stop it from growing rapidly!

Yeah, xenia is a non stop grower... If anything it will take over the zoos... But if it seems like it is and you dont want to lose the zoos, give it a trim, it will always grow back.

xenia is like a weed that just doesnt stop lol. some advice is to put the rock of xenia in your sand so the xenia cant spread to all your rocks! learned that the hard way.

Hey thanks for the responses! Everybody is so helpful here! When I get my home office tank up and running maybe I'll move thatxzenia rock into that tank. I just love watching it move in the water!

There is one way to inhibit xenia growth or kill it: put it in my tank 
I can't keep that stuff alive to save my life!
Trimming xenia isn't going to hurt it at all. Good Luck!

To xlr8r and Melissa, I am having beginners luck. I have no idea why my corals are growing so well in my tank. I'm just hoping that when something goes wrong, which of course it will one of these days, that I will notice it and can figure out what to do! I just watching these xenia moving around in the water. My cleaner shrimp visits them at feeding time and tries to steal food that they may have latched onto! haha He is pretty new to me and I'm now able to get some food pretty close to him in the tank so that he will stop tromping around on my corals!
