Just thought I'd share an anecdote about this interesting fish. He's a filamented flasher wrasse (Paracheilinus filamentosus.) He's just like a pampered cat! He's usually very active, swimming about snacking on pods but everytime I move a rock or add a coral he hides all day only to timidly re-emerge to slowly size up the new arrival. Well today I radiacally re-arranged the furniture in the room with the tank and he just hated it. Hid all day. He's finally emerging and swimming around now but jeez, what a touchy little fish. Just hates change I guess. Kinda makes me wonder about the behavior of these guys in the wild. Do they hide ALL the time in the wild or are the reefs about the Cook islands very unchanging?
