How bright do you have your moon lights? Do you have any pictures?

I have 2 12" cold cathode florescent tubes for my moon lighting and when I turn them up all the way the tank is very well lite. So lite that some of my fish (mostly my tang) gets stressed out and wont sleep. To keep the fish happy and sleeping at night I keep the moon lighting at less then 1/4 the full brightness the lights can go. This makes the tank not very well lite.

Tonight I will take some pictures to show you all how bright my tank is at night and how bright I can make it.

Another question I have that is not about lighting is. Should I turn off my Seio pumps at night to give the current a rest? The ocean is calmer at night then in the day so shouldn't my aquarium?

i run 4 of the 3/4 watt led's over my 30 gallon at night and everyone sleeps but it gives a nice "shimmer" effect.  i would be wary of overlighting at night =/

If you have nice "random" flow everything is getting a break once in a while anyways,  however if i had powerheads in the tank i'd probably cycle them on off just for kicks.

I do not believe this is true.

How are the new pumps?

Those moonlights look very cool. Thanks for showing them to me during my visit.

The new pumps are great lots more flow then what I had. I should have bought them sooner. My fish are getting a workout, now they have to swim to stay in one spot. The little acro frag is a bit greener on one of the polyp openings. Still no sign of the polyps though.

Here is a picture of my moon light at 100% the picture is dim compared to what it really is like. My camera would not even take a picture of the dimmer setting I have it set to.

This is a picture that look just like what my tank looks like with the lights at 100%.
