Any idea what type of urchin this guy is? He is about 6 inches across. Thanks!

WOW 6"... giant urchin!
I have one that looks like that but mine is maybe 2" and doesn't grow very fast.
I believe it is a type of needle urchin.

There are really only a few common names; Pin Cushion Urchin, Collector Urchin and Long Spine Urchin.
Are you looking for the scientific name or where it came from?
It looks like it might be from the Caribbean.
It doesn't look like any I have here in my "big aquarium".


This one is called the Shingle Urchin. They are all over on the sunny side of the island.
