I am interested in finding one for my tank but I am wondering what people's experiences have been with a Pom Pom crab in their reef tank? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

We have (or had) one. Haven't seen him in a few weeks. He's been very interesting and hasn't bothered anything in the tank except the other crabs that come up to him exploring and he'll sting them with the anemones.  He's hilarious to watch as he sweeps the anemones to gather food.  I understand that the anemones die off eventually in a reef though.

Agreed, They are killer to watch. But they can easily get lost in a big tank.. I havent seen them last long after the anemone's die.. But amazing while it lasts...
This is more than a hobby; its a lifestyle.

Had one for about a year in my Pico. Was awesome to watch but rarely even saw him and that was in a three gallon. I imagine in a larger reef tank you'd probably never see them. They are not large.
None at the moment

The crab would be housed in a 130 RSM. Livestock now is cleaner shrimp, pistol/goby pair, pair of black ice clownish. Any contraindications based on my livestock? Also how long in your experience have the anemones lasted in your tanks?

I have two in my little five gallon and love them. I see them often, some days more than others. The first one I got from another reef hobbiest and I think he had it for over six months and she still has her pom poms. The other I bought at reef runners and it only had one pom pom but I do believe my original pom pom split one of hers to share with it because they both now have two and the original ones is a bit smaller than it use to be.
