Nuke HELP!!!!!

I accidently spilled my beer on my hood, and it ran between the cracks and into the tank. I assume only a few ounces of beer got in the water. What do you recommend? Please help!!!!!!!! any experience? Thanks.

I reecommend you keep your beer away from your tank in the future Wink

Seriously, don't freak out. If only an ounce or 3 got into your tank, I wouldn't do anything.

If you poured a few cans in, then I'd be worried...

Some questions:
What size tank?
What filtration is there?
What kind of beer?  Confused  not that it may matter...

I don't know about beer, but people sometimes add vodka... maybe it's time for a drink change.  LOL  jk

Sounds like you are doing it right, Carbon, skim, and small water change. I am not sure what that yeast will do to the water??

The yeast cells are left behind after the secondary fermentation.
Besides, most commercial beer is pasteurized, so it is completely sanitary.

At least it was a nicer beer, and not PBR or something.

If it has the same effect on fish as it does on humans I'd get the camera ready.

well, besides the inhabitants of the tank looking a bit hungover, I can't see any side effects of the beer. I think I'll just start dosing a few ounces of beer every week, I think it will be good for em, loosen them up a bit.

This being Utah I hope you served them some food first before serving them alcohol....Wink   seriously though you may have fed some bacteria and actually reduced the nitrates in your tank thats why some people dose vodka among other things.  Running the carbon was a good idea though. Glad everything worked out.
