In case you haven't considered it, this MB is the place to come to get
all the true facts. If you haven't found out by now, there is a lot of
misinformation on the www. What you read, evidently did not tell you how
Calerpa looks as it grows and matures. Caulerpa strands grow about 1-3 feet long. The old end of the strand turns white and dissolves away. The old end that melts away can be up to a foot long.
You will know when Caulerpa goes sexual because the entire bunch will go clear and melt away in a day. The other thing you did not discover in your reading is how often Caulerpa goes sexual. It happens very infrequently. The reason it happens is because it ran out of food. This causes it to create gametes(seeds) that in the wild the currents will take to other places where there is more food.
If you keep half Chaetomorpha and half a variety of different types of Caulerpa, you will never have a problem.
You can take it out of the bag and put it back in the tank. It's okay.
If you don't want to put it back in, I'd love it. Please call me at the number below.
